Turkey in WV

Well, this is a tad over due but I've got the photos and time to blog while working from home. As mentioned earlier I was spending my turkey day in Canaan, WV at a cabin full of peeps. It was a hellish drive out what should have taken 3.5 hours took 6...but I managed to listen to some great playlist. In the dark it wasn't much to look at but in the daylight it was a beautiful wooded area.

Prior to the dinner I managed to get out for a run and see all the hidden trails and beautiful cabin homes...sorry no photos - didn't feel like lugging a camera on my run.

We had 13 of us feast over the most traditional thanksgiving dinner. It was a delicious time and good laughter. I was so full that I had to excuse myself from the table and lay down before my stomach busted...pre-pumpkin pie.

The next day we drove to Blackfalls State Park in Davis, WV. I believe the photos should describe the natural beauty. It was a very inspiring and chilly place. After the outing we all went back to the cabin, several went on walks, canoe in the lake, and sit in the hot tub. I opted for an afternoon nap and thought of the days we this was my ONE day of true leisure and laziness. So I felt no shame or guilt in doing nothing. It will never be as good as my time spent with Sarah & Meredith on a sofa in LBC watching Pride and Prejudice, napping, and eating...sorry momentary detour.

On Saturday, I needed to return back to the city for the HOLY WAR and party commitments. On my way home I stopped to watch the ski resort make snow for the season, from the looks of it they had a very long way to go. The game - weak in playing but a WIN is a WIN and seeing it with out UTES was a delight.
