pre-Turkey 2010

For just a moment I need to digress from my post and say something that irks me. Well it is that time of year, apparently the only time where all walks of life openly give thanks. It amazes me to hear people talk about how being grateful for health, family, friends, freedom, security and my favorite gratitude toward God; but the other 11 months you never hear them utter a word of praise or thankfulness to God and in fact curses Him often for the mishaps of life. I digress...now my post for today.

Last weekend, I have the privilege of walking a 5K at the National Mall and fundraising ($160) for a cause that I have been affiliated with for a while. It was to help end homelessness and the non-profit I volunteer at is Miriam's Kitchen. I thank my friends and family for donating; every $ goes toward Miriam's Kitchen (160 MEALS!!!!) It was a beautiful weekend and I had a friend (Alison Decker) join me for the walk.

This holiday I will be spending it out in the woods - Davis, WV (3.5 hours west of DC). Some friends have rented a cabin and I am heading out after work today. I will be coming back on Saturday for the most obvious reason - UTAH vs BYU (the Holy War!!!) I am hoping it will be a a great match and a win for UTAH. Also while out in the woods I need to run some miles - next week is my 10-miler in VA Beach.

Thanks...
Mom & Dad - for doing the deed and bringing me here (still figuring out why)
Sisters, Brother, Bro-Laws - keeping me in my place and reminding me that I smile like Chandler
Nieces & Nephews - the loves of my life; I will spoil you as long as you make me #1 Auntie
Friends/Peeps - my go to group, not always solid but great for a laugh and a shoulder to cry on...but please no hugging :)
Job - pays the bills, give joy to children & communities, and good stories...never a dull blackberry moment
my Faith - it's mine, no one can take it away, and it produces emotions that are indescribable
G-MA - a kindred soul and love of MINE

...and everything else that is obvious...thanks!

Stories from WV soon - no cell or internet service...hmmmmmmm...
