commuting routine

I don't know if I call this a sign of getting older or just having a solid routine. Typically I walk to the metro station and travel to work via train. Every now and then I will drive - expensive parking and stupid city traffic (worst than LA 405 freeway).

Today, I had a meeting off-site so I drove into the office. The sole reason I drove to work. Well, as I was getting on the metro to attend this meeting I said to myself it would have been nice if I drove today. I'm an IDIOT!

Now I just need to remember to drive HOME.

Once when I was about 16 I was babysitting a house 2 blocks away from my home. My parents wanted me to drive because I'd be getting home really late and they were worried something might happen to me in the 2 block walk (seriously). So when the babysittee's parents got home the father kindly offered me a ride home, which I accepted. Doh!

That's kind of funny! I could see myself doing that if I rode trax to work instead of driving. I would probably walk out to the parking garage and think somebody stole my car. Gotta love being a slave to the routine!
