As a child/teenager I considered myself to have average costumes; a witch, a superhero (wonder woman), a princess, a slumber party goer, and my favorite a ghost (best use of a 500 thread count sheet). But I would never, ever say I had a huge love for the holiday. I do love see small children dress up - my nieces and nephews always warm my heart.
I tended to be jealous of those who get creative and inventive - not slutty or gross. Some great costumes - an autograph sheet (dressed in all white and had sharpies and had everyone in site sign him - great way to meet "people"), Flo the Progressive Girl, a Monica (political scandal), a gladiator, Patty as Dorothy or the Deadliest Catch (2010 Costume...solid!), and the year Bryan dressed up with Robb as Patsy and Edina (they even rented a car) from head to toe it was flawless.
My office is having their annual costume/pumpkin-oloza on Friday. I have started to wonder do I dare dress up...if so WHAT? I don't do well with putting in effort on something of this nature. The idea of being an actor has never appealed to me.
Maybe this year I could just be a fan/admirer; that I do very, very well.
