bridal shower
Over the weekend it was my privilege to attend another bridal shower. Now believe it or not this was my very first one out here on the East. I thought it maybe a tad conservative and even formal. It was a nice group dinner at a Thai restaurant and then desert at one of the bridal party's home. Dinner went off fine. The deserts were quiet tasty. The gift opening was another story. She opened her gifts some very practical; others well you know...one gift in particular had some interesting items. She blushed like a little school girl. Then she looked at the items with quite a question. She was so naive that she didn't have a clue as to what they were used neither for or how; I about passed out in shock. She is under the impression that the education of marriage should just come day by day after the ceremony no manuals, counsel or video is required. Now not being on the other side I sure objected but was not in the right place or time to educate or at least fine someone who could help this poor 25 yr old bride to be out. After the gathering I got into the car with another women and she too commented on the gift but with the same lack of knowledge. My mind was at a loss of words or practical wisdom. Currently my impression is the East; is not how conservative they are, they are just in a very large closet or under a heavy blanket - alone.

OK... I am dying to know what the gift was! I know I have seen some crazy things in my experience with bridal showers that I had to take a double take to figure out "what that thing is used for". But I am guessing this was something that was a little more obvious...
