2 for 1

Clearly you view my dating life as reality TV…rightfully so  This one…well, back-story – it was a first meet up, scheduling has been a challenge. Finally he suggested we meet up at a bar for a drink. I have to say I wasn’t all that excited but I dressed up and put my “A” game on. I got to the bar first – packed and loud. I texted him and waited outside. He arrived, I told him the scene and kind of suggested we go somewhere else to talk and get to know each other. NOW…here is the good part, he pauses and lets me know he told a friend we were going to this bar and the friend is inside with a table. HE asks me if it be alright if we go say “hi”…well, I can’t be a selfish girl, so of course I’m going to say “sure…” He leads us to the back of the bar and this guy is sitting by himself eating dinner. Now we are invited to sit down. We order some drinks and now it has turned into me sitting between two guys; one I’m on a date with and the other is his lonely friend out on a Saturday night. SERIOUSLY!!! So, I can’t be rude, every question I ask the date I end up ask the other guy. Now the guy and the date are asking questions, chatting and I’m scratching my head. A couple gems of the night…

• guy #2 ask me my sign and tells me he is into astrology and tells each of us what our signs mean and the compatibility

• guy #2 tells me he thinks I’m 40/41 (I’m 37!)

• guy #1 ask me which out of the two of us do I like better…jokingly and suggesting I say him

• guy #1 repeating refers to how out of shape he is in and that I have a very fit body and he hopes one day to lose weight (side note – both are pretty large guys – guy #2 is 42, never dated seriously and is working on losing 100 lbs – very nice personality; guy #1 is about 5’7 (claimed to be 5’9) and needs to lose some as well – pictures where from the shoulders up or slightly thinner days)…I don’t mind a stocky guy – kind of prefer based on personal comfort

• both guys talk about dating criteria and what are good traits in a girl

It’s about 10:30 and guy #1 suggest we go elsewhere and #2 starts to offer another spot because its been a good night. I close up and tell them I need to leave. The original date insists on walking me to my car. On the way to the car tells me he is sorry but hopes I had fun. At the car he give me a very big hug and slowly tries to go in for a big kiss…I totally pulled back and said I just had an awkward two guy date…he acts shocked and tries again…SERIOUSLY!! Now, I’m all for a good kiss on a first date if it is truly a date and there is chemistry. I got in the car and just started laughing in disbelief.

There you go…FYI…he texted me the following day asking me for a second date w/o his friend and he would pay for a meal this time. Not so sure what I’ll do. Now you may laugh.

Oh, this is awesome! But really, is the dinner worth the time spent in his company?
