trapeze...up in the air it's a bird, it's a plane...NO it's ME!

Still working on my ride recap. I returned back to DC late Monday night. At work on Tuesday my co-worker "Boo" reminded me late in the day we had a "date" on Wednesday. I checked my calendar and it said, "Flying...bring your tights". Then I giggled and kind of paniced; over a month ago we signed up for Trapeze class...the day had come. It was in the Navy Yard of the DC district. Boo and I walked into this large stuff tent and find a huge net with swings and bars. We meet our instructors - Mandy, Arron, and Scout. We also became friends with two girls Cindy and Michelle from Delaware...transplants to DC.

On the floor they taught us how to catch the bar, stand on the platform, commands for the routine. The routine is to go forward, tuck your legs up, over the bar, release your hands from the bar, hang/swing, grab the bar, untuck, and flip onto the net. NOW...my body was NOT created to be in a ball...natural meant to be straight either vertical or horizontal. But I did everything in my power/flexibility to do this. I did hang from the bar 4/6 times. My back, shoulders, and arms were stretched like Elasticman. My body was WORKED! The lead guy Scout asked me to pick some music - I said how random can I go...he said "try me"...well the first artist that came to mind - NKOTB (New Kids on the BLOCK)...random - but the music was excellent 80's tunes. We tore up the place with lip-syncing and old school dancing. The Instructors thought we brought the party. WE DID!

By the end it was an incredible feeling - your heart races, you trust not only your body, but the rope, bar, the net, and the trainers. It was surreal. At the end i ached more than I had after riding a 100-miles less then two weeks ago. CRAZY GOOD TIME! So, I'm doing it again - very soon. Any takers?
