what I woke up too this AM...

SO my alarm starts buzzzzzzing (5:31AM)...the theme to "ROCKY"...then I realize it is a tad chilly. I get up and notice two things - buring smell and chilly breeze. Walk to the front part of the house and realize there is no power and it smells. I walk over to my floor space heater - not on and no smell. I then check a couple outlets and notice this...



Yep - electrical FIRE...never seen an outlet melt 2 cords and scorch a wall. It was a mircale that nothing else caught fire. It was connected to a lamp and my new iPOD docing station.

I phoned my house super; who lives upstairs. He came down and assested the scene and then tore apart the wall. In my mind I was bummed about not going to the gym. He pulled the box out and luckily the fire was only in the box and not the wall or wiring. He came back an hour later cute the wiring, taped it up and put a new fuse in ... POWER back to my fridge and parts of my home. So now today I am have an electrican come a repair the outlet and the on across from it. I am also hoping to get a new lamp and iPod docing station - from my landlord...
