Yesterday was my first welcome to summer...I had quite a packed day. The first part of it I went to a charter school in NE DC and designed a playground with XM Radio and introduced two of my newest staffers to KaBOOM!. Well it was a lovely event kids laughed, parents smiled and the funding partner gushed. After this we were off to a build site in Arlington, VA; Saturday we are building with Corporate Executive Board (CEB). I wanted to show them what a Prep Day #1 was all about.
Now I brought clothes to change in to & help out on site but deep down inside I really was looking more so to supervise and be a spectator because it was 95 degrees with 80% humidity...icky. But most of you know me and I ended up changing and shorting playground equipment. Now prior to this just standing still sweat started to drip down my body in places that just should not be sweaty and sticky. So while sweating and not moving at all my mind started to wander and think...this is great I can eat whatever I want...WHY...because I'm sweating so there fore I must be melting pounds off my body. This thought started to roll into larger and larger thoughts of grand magnitude to the point where I thought that maybe most Americans feel this way and that is why large amounts of ice cream, sugar, watermelon (yuck) and anything edible in sight on a hot day is consumed...because we all feel a since of entitlement - we are sweating therfore we must be melting pounds off our body so it must be OK to eat anything we want.
I was quickly brought back to reality when on of my staffers called my name and asked about some silly component. I know random but I blame it on the heat and my body going into shock. And then proceded to eat a large amount of pringles...once you pop the top you can't stop at just one...WELCOME SUMMER!
