exchanging emails - the new way of getting digits

I went to my first "DC" party over the weekend and I started chatting with several people and instead of just getting numbers people where "hey, why don't I get your email?" I thought ok...but I really hope they don't put me on their spam list...you know those stupid email chains where if you send this email out to "X" amount of people your wish will come ture or good luck will smile upon you for a duration of time. So far I've been safe...but we'll see.
