Van Halen

Yesterday I worked the conference and then joined my colleagues for a post and pre Build dinner. They just finished a playground with a foundation and were getting ready to build another one tomorrow. Right before dinner a project manager was stressing because a playground installer had two tickets to Van Halen and she was given them. But she was so tired and didn't really want to go...well she was telling me this story and the next thing I know she gave me the tickets because I was just grinning ear from ear with jealousy. The next thing I know I am taking a cab to the New Orleans Arena to meet a co-worker and see the original Van Halen.

The people watching was spectacular...mullets, old women in tube tops, black leather and lots of hairspray. After we got our seats in the upper deck...lights go down and next thing you see is the one and only David Lee Roth strutting down the stage and Eddie Van Halen rocking out on the guitar.

Needless to say the our section was the sitting section...so head rocking in the seat and listening to Panama, Girls Gone Baby, Hot for Teacher and encore performance of JUMP!
All in all it was a rocker time...The stage was cool and the guys looked great. One of the guest players was Wolfgang Van Halen. It was a great unexpected bonus to my trip and felt the good karma. (PS...is it weird I thought David Lee Roth looked hot? - don't answer.)

Right on! Van Halen's one of my top 5 favorite bands of all time (which sadly shows my age)! Glad you had a good time there, look forward to seeing you in March when you come out.
