My drive my easy and very calming...out in the open road. I noticed a lot of road kill and swampy marsh. One of the main reasons I visited this historic site was because of the movies filmed there - one of my favorite The Long Hot Summer (starign Paul Newman & Joanna Woodward)...rent it! This place was just that a true southern beauty; over 1500 acres. The tunnel of trees was just amazing; they are currently 300years old with a life expectancy of 600 years.
After the tour they offer you the chance to sit on the pourch and drink lemonade and mint julips...I opted not to because I had to drive back to New Orleans to catch my flight. Now I can check this off my list of things to see before I die.
