my backyard

On Saturday's I typically like to take long run/walks around my backyard.

This morning was a great one. I find that I have an incredible neighborhood and today reminded me.

It had rained most of the night so this morning started out as a light sprinkle. I started out at the Capitol, then down the "Mall" to Washington, WW2, Korean and then a breather at Lincoln.

The Lincoln Monument is a place I refer to as my mini-sanctuary. From there I ran over to MLK then around the tidal basin to FDR (my version of Falling Water) over to the Jefferson. The Jefferson would have to be one of my reflection spots.

Once I'm at Jefferson, I cruise back over to the "Mall"; I like seeing all the tourist. There is a merry-go-round in front of the Smithsonian Castle. The merry-go-round reminds me of the one in Paris. I roll back up the "Hill", run down east capitol and finish up at Eastern Market (120 year old outdoor farmers market).

This stroll reminds me why I live where I live.

Spring will you come soon enough???

And to all that read this, I am happy to "walk" with you around "my backyard".
