Well this is a week that will go into the books and even the blog. It has been a while and I won't go into details for my absence. But today and yesterday where historic. My city was put under a state of emergency - hurricane Irene was heading for us and we needed to prepare for the worse. It was odd because the nearest ocean was 3 hours away. Never the less I took precautions and did what I felt was best for me - purchased water, protein bars, beef jerky, and extra cereal. Enough food for a few days. When it was time fro me to go to bed the electricity was still on and I filled the tub with water in case the water was shutoff and the toilet could still be used. In my bedroom I keep the fan running and the a/c so I could get a sense of when power was out. I woke up at 6AM and everything was fine, no water or electrical damage.
I decided to take a walk in the neighborhood just to see the damage...well I took around my street corner and saw this...my car is the white jeep. My heart was in huge state of relief.
It was interesting speaking with neighbors and on lookers. It took several hours for the city to remove the tree. They weren't able to remove everything but the street is clear for traffic and no single person got hurt.
Thanks Irene for the memories.

Woah. Good to hear that wasn't your car - and even better to know that nobody was hurt! Happy post-hurricane time to you!
