Late Tuesday night while coughing in bed, I was checking my email for work via blackberry (my nighttime friend). I received a donation notification, I opened the email and the amount and donor were a huge surprise. The donor was a name I did not recognize. Puzzled, I paused, then an email popped up from a fellow teammate. She had the donors name in the subject line. In the email, she let me know that a friend of hers was looking to make a donation and she had made her fundraising goal. She then told the donor to donate to my page because I was still short in meeting my goal.
The donor is a survivor and a dear friend of my teammate. The donor wanted to show their support and knew that the money was going all to the same place and for a good cause. Their life had been blessed by the TEAM and wanted to continue to raise awareness.
Reading this email and seeing the donation was just a confirmation of why I joined this cause. The exchange of good will and time spent with my teammates has been a huge strength of inspiration.
GO TEAM!
PS. In case you were wondering, I have had other life experiences but I will blog those post ride.
