post Olympic blues

Last night was the end of something I have grown quite found of...the Winter Olympics. But they are now over and it is time to hand the torch to Russia for the 2014 games.

Canada’s Olympic closing ceremony wasn’t as elegant as their opening ceremony with this one featuring a number of giant inflatable Mounties, large plastic beavers, huge giant cardboard lumberjacks and moose. Michael Buble' singing about maple leaves was a little strange. William Shatner was pretty funny to me. A cool moment for me, Neil Young ~ "Long May You Run" which he sang as the Olympic flame was extinguished and “ snow” fell and the the pillars retract back into the floor.

But the awe of being an Olympian has me searching for a way to be one and I may have found my in - CURLING. Now I mentioned in an earlier blog and I found a local National chapter in MD. It has me looking at the introduction class...but at the same time here are some reasons why i think it would be a natural fit for me - Professionals Can Wear Make-Up And Chanel Earrings While Playing and The Guy Yelling At The Players Is A Professional, Not A Drunken Fan.

Another highlight - 4 man bobsled USA taking the GOLD after 62 years!

One thing that will entertain me or get me over the hump will be the season final of the Bachelor...that's right, I am in and pulling for Tinley.

Looks like Vienna won. A very interesting season I'd say.
