call to action

Today, the National Recreation and Park Association launched a campaign to defeat an amendment to the economic stimulus package that would ban the use of those funds for local parks. The amendment, proposed by Senator Coburn states: “no funds in the bill can be used for any casino or other gambling establishment, aquarium, zoo, golf course, swimming pool, stadium, community park, museum, theater, art center, and highway beautification project. “

At KaBOOM!, we feel passionately that local parks are critical to the heath and wellbeing of communities, and that the public’s reliance on local parks will only increase in this economic climate.

Call Your Senators TODAY and Ask Them to Oppose the Coburn Amendment That Prohibits Funding for Community Parks! You can find contact information for your senator at www.senate.gov.

Thank you, as always, for your time and your dedication to the cause of play.
