So last week I was at the gym doing my normal daily pre-work routine. Now I am comfortable enough to say that I am a regular at my gym; my definition of "regular" attend or visit an establishment 4+ times a week. So I tend to see other such as myself there but don't make an effort to befriend or introduce. But over the past several weeks some of the "regulars" have been smiling and waving at me so I have returned the reply. This one morning a regular in the locker room was chatting with me and toward the end of our conversation she said this...
regular: "what is your name?"
me: "Carrie."
regular: "nice to meet you Carrie, my name is Antoinette. I figure sense we see each other naked, we should at least know each others name."
me: "Antoinette, you make a good point. Nice to meet you as well."
Now in most normal circumstance the conversation would of seemed odd, but for some reason I was totally fine with it. Now that she knows my name she greets me by it and smiles I have to say it is kind of nice. I even have some of the staff calling me by name. I just need to be careful and not get too friendly...I have routine to protect.
