domestic invasion

On Saturday my church had a "Super Saturday"; it is when ladies from Church come together at a chapel and from 9 AM to 1 PM make several holiday crafts. Well I was feeling a need to support and see if I still had any craftiness in me. Of course I went to the gym prior (had a gym stocker encounter...another blog - later). I walked in with my fabric in hand. I arrived around 10AM, my heart started to race as I walked into the gym/cultural hall - there were tables set up and women just crafting like mad. Lots of chattering and sweet smells of holiday goodness. There was Christmas music playing, a lovely spread of brunch type food ... praises to the gym; justified my spinach and artichoke dip attack.

The crafts offered - wreath decorating (DUH...), clay pot holiday stencil painting filled with candy, scrapbook holiday pages (OF COURSE...), assembling of a holiday recipe cookbook, and of course sewing women/child's aprons.

Now knowing myself and taking the easy route is not in my vocabulary so I signed up to make TWO child's aprons - over zealous...maybe. But I had remarkable help from a girl name Andrea (made props to her). I started out on my first one - pink and print peasant apron. Needless to say it look me until 12:45 to get that thing done. So many rules and precise steps that I thought were silly but apparently necessary. But after all was said and done I made ONE apron. I was given the pep talk of doing the second one on my own. WHO are they kidding...MOM, get ready for me...I have a small project to do over the Christmas break.

So I am super impressed-I don't think I would have even been able to complete the one apron, with assitance, from many people.
