After that I walked up Michigan Ave to visit a friend at the Obama central HQ's. His office as well was like getting into Fort Knox. But I made it through the screening. He gave me a tour of the epicenter. I couldn't take any pictures...security reasons. But envision 400 young democrats crammed into half a floor. I would say the personal space was non-existent. Also hundreds of pictures and stickers on the man himself. Every single person working on a laptop. Each closed door office had 4 people working in it. It was insane...but really cool.
OBAMA - the exterior
After my visit I strolled down Michigan Ave...great street for people watching and this...random shot.
Continuing down the Avenue I landed at Millennium Park. SUPER COOL...
Kapoor Sculptor
Crown Fountain - picture changes every 30 minutes...really pretty.
Later that night I was suppose to have dinner with my colleagues but they all decided to stay in. I thought "HELLOOOO WE'RE in Chicago!" So I took myself out and while cruising the streets I stumbled upon the Oriental Theatre. I decided to treat myself to this...
I have to say it was even better the second time. Especially when I stay awake the whole time. Really a marvelous show.
Topped off the night with a walk by of the famous Chicago sign.
Oh...did I mention I built a playground the next day. It was a terrible build but we got it done. Not it a timely manor, but done. I had to rush off to the airport and to make my flight. I didn't get to stay and help clean up. At the restroom in the Midway Airport I took a poor girl sink shower. Luckily I didn't have to sit by anyone on my way home. I was a little stinky - smelled like mulch and sweat...ahhh.
