Measure of Variability

So I have a very intelligent roommate who I refer to as "the gifted one", well she has been corresponding with a missionary and this missionary is coming home in about 6 weeks. Well the last couple of weeks I have been given the honor/roommate duty of reading/giving input toward her letters to him. And of course I get to help in dissect the responses and inquires from this young man. As time becomes shorter and shorter things are getting turned up a notch and in the last letter from her missionary he gave her the as of to date the best compliment and I quote directly "You are five standard deviations above the mean". So tonight we are breaking down the actuality of the statement and mathematical probability. As I am typing this my gifted roommate is chatting with my sporty/med roommate about bell curves, infinite ranges, variances and deviations...oh I wish I had a tape recorder - I am so not in Kansas anymore.

Now I hate to admit but I slept or spaced a vast majority of math and science - hence I look a people who excel in this realm to provide me more logical quality of life.
